Three Methods I use for Cleansing my Cards

Each and every reading is different and the cards have a message for any who ask. I like to cleanse my cards frequently, once before and after all readings. This is to neutralize the energy of a previous reading.

I use three different methods to cleanse my Tarot cards. All of which work equally well but use is dependent on what tools I have with me and which method I feel like using.

  • The very first method I learned was to push the energy away from the cards with my hands. At the same time I visualize a white light and think the word "clean" at the same time. Once I have moved the energy away, I shake it off of my hands, or wash my hands.
  • Another way I cleanse them is with my pendulum. I hold the pendulum over the cards and ask it to cleanse my cards it usually will spin in a counter clockwise direction for a bit and when it stops they are back to zero. I may then ask it to charge my cards for a specific task, for example choosing a good card for meditation.

  • The third method that I use for cleansing my cards is smudging. I use a   sage smudge and say a special prayer while I let the smoke encompass   the deck and the material I carry it in.

My cards are always ready to go! I can promise there will be no residual energy left over from past readings when you have yours.

I always enjoy chatting with you!

Tracy

Are You Curious About Trying IT?

Are you wondering what it's like to have a Tarot reading? The only way to really find out is to actually have it done! It only seems deep and dark and mysterious because it isn't well understood.

My personal understanding of the Tarot is that it is an energy reading, the cards are neutral really, only picking up the energy that I or whoever is touching them transfers to them. Just passing along a message.

Now, when the querent (that is you) is not present but is speaking to me via phone, letter or chat, the energy is still transferred to the cards through me. The cards that are turned, are interpreted by me.

You only tell me what you want to, if once I have gone through all of the cards you want to clarify certain points or let me in on the question that is fine (it's way more fun and interesting for me when I am clueless). I would like to add that knowing your name, even if it is only your first name, really helps me to focus on you while I shuffle and ask the cards to answer your question on your behalf.

Still unsure? Try out the Three Card Flip, a helpful reading that won't delve too deep into sensitive issues great for a first time reading.

Take care,

Sunday: Time for Stillness

Seven cards - seven days! Today the card of the day is the Ten of Rods.
In some ways a card that describes the energy of someone who is driven to succeed. The person who is never happy until...unfortunately there is always another "until".

There are degrees of success, however, there is a burden in achieving it which would be the case with someone who is working very hard and doing a good job but without any joy in the doing.

The statement I get from this card is that having a passion for your work means feeling less oppressed and more free. When you love what you do, it is no burden to do your job but rather it is a pleasure, there is less stress which in the long term is much healthier. The Ten of Rods is a reminder that guilt and self-doubt only hinder our progress by creating the burden. When we release those negative emotions, we no longer feel the need to carry any other load either.

Today is a good day to lay down your heavy load, let go of negative emotions, they do not work toward your highest good...Take a rest and know that you have earned it.

I always enjoy chatting with you...

Tracy

Going Strong on Saturday

So, Saturday, it turns out, is about Strength. This particular card embodies all that the name implies.

It makes me think of one who is prepared for any type of challenge that comes along, whether a physical, mental or emotional. We all know somebody who is like this, usually this person is the "last man standing" after whatever catastrophe hits. One who has Strength as a character trait not only can take a lot but can also turn any adversity into an advantage. A strong person is not afraid to lose and will not give up.

No matter the subject of your reading, the Strength card is an awesome card to have show up in any spread, (in upright position). If it is in a good spot, it can offset negativity in nearby cards or bolster the positive ones.

It is always great chatting with you!

Tracy

Foundation Friday

This card heralds the coming of the weekend! It is the beginning of a new, creative energy for what's to come. This drive is brimming over and it a great time to start something new.Use this force to build the foundation for long term projects that will help you move forward.

The Ace of Rods (or Wands) is a positive outcome card to receive in any spread, but most especially when one is planning some new endeavour. I have even had it show up in a reading as a pregnancy (that was later discovered). Have a happy Friday!

I enjoy chatting with you!

Thursday's Thought

Today, I cleansed, shuffled, cut the deck times three and the card I drew was the Knight of Cups. It is strange because yesterday's card was Page of Rods...both of these cards give reference to a messenger, both are different but now the message is the same. While I shuffle I focus on what message to look for today, same thing as yesterday - I ask for a message and I get a card that represents a messenger.

Now I know that I talked about this card in romantic terms in "The Cards of Love: Part I", but since I had no thoughts of romance while choosing my card this morning I feel the message for today is less to do with that and more to do with some of this card's other meanings.

This card also represents advances in things that you love, invitations that can lead to advancement and positive propositions. If this Tarot card pops up in a reading about finance or career then it is likely referring to a career move that let's you do what you most love.

Hence, my thought of the day...Do what you love so you can love what you do.

I look forward to talking with you soon!

Tracy

Wednesday - Word!

Today's card of the day is a message about the messenger. A reminder to pay special attention to what others tell us, there is always something we can learn from them.

This card, in my experience, usually has to do with family messengers, you know the person who keeps in touch with everybody and always has info on what is going on with all. I'm not saying the person is a gossip, no. The one who is always the first to rally for others in the family (because they know what is going on), the connected one who is always ready to open up and who may have a special ability to get others to share.

The more traditional meanings indicate that the Page of Rods is usually a younger male, a messenger or envoy, somebody who is a faithful lover and in the last, family intelligence.

Whomever he or she may be to you, when this Tarot card appears in your reading remember, the person represented is very likely going to share something meaningful with you. I wonder what messages are waiting for you...

I look forward to speaking with you!

Love and Light,

Tracy

Tuesday is for Triumph

Today I let the Universe pick a Tarot for Tuesday. A better card could not have come up! Such a lovely, positive card to think upon and if you ascribe at all to the Law of Attraction, this will only bring more wonderful thoughts.

I use the word triumph as an overall descriptive because, even though that word is not in the traditional meaning of the card, when one achieves the level of existence attributed to this card, one certainly has triumphed. I also wanted a good descriptive word that started with the letter "t".

I have had this particular card also show up in a reading as a wedding, literally - but usually I get a feeling of overall well being and joy when I look at it.

The Four of rods is all about attaining the heart's desires, perfection, being able to relax and enjoy all you have worked for. It is being blessed in the material sense and in the emotional sense.

It is a reminder that we can do whatever we set our heart and mind to do. It also speaks to the fact that if we have these things, we truly are blessed. I hope to see this card in your reading.

Tracy

Monday is for Manifestation...

Today, I thought I would draw a card that represents
financial or business success, money etc.

This is the card drawn after shuffling and cutting the deck.

The Seven of Pentacles:

Success in matters of business and barter (this meaning only applies to the upright position and only Aquarian Tarot unless as a reader you feel otherwise).

When I look at it, I feel this card represents the edge of manifestation; having already had success in a matter and expecting continued success.

Look for this card in readings about your finances or business and expect good things to come your way (I hope you expect that anyways!).

I look forward to talking to you soon!

Tracy

The Cards of LOVE: Part Deux

So here it is, the second part of the cards that have "that loving feeling"...

Ah, that feeling of falling in love...the only thing better is realizing after many years that you still feel the same way about your significant other. This next card in your reading indicates that your relationship might just be headed in the right direction.

When you have that one perfect love, there may be trials but there is no fear.

So here you have six auspicious cards to show up in your reading. Although these cards are awesome to have in any type of reading whether you ask about family or career or even money, they are most especially excellent to see when the query
is about love. I hope to see these cards in your reading!

I look forward to chatting with you soon!

Enlightenment

Choose your reading

Every now again in a reading, this card comes up, good old  number thirteen - THE DEATH CARD (cue the music in my head, dun, dun, dun).

In all of my years of Tarot Reading, I have only seen it refer to anything physical one time and it was actually speaking of a client's near death experience and the change this person experienced after the fact.

Actually this is one of the most favourable cards to get when one is hoping for change because that is what this card represents. It is usually not physical change that is referred to but more of a great shift in thinking or feeling, which may lead to enlightenment.

The Death Card is really great in that it represents change or movement or expansion in one's life (especially of the psyche). If you are fortunate enough to have this card turn up  in a reading, then be happy and rejoice, you are about to grow and that my friend is nothing but positive.

As always, it is wonderful chatting with you!

I look forward to our next encounter.

5 Excellent Reasons to Have Your Cards Read

If you were wondering why it might be a great idea to go and have a Tarot reading, I think that I can help you out with that. Here are five good starters for you.

The Tarot is a great way to explore uncharted areas of your self. Tarot will often guide you through things that you may have been unaware of within your own psyche. You may have wondered why something was bothering you or have negative feelings about a certain subject and not clearly understand why. A Tarot reading often confirms what you may have been thinking or wondering.

The Tarot can certainly help you to understand which areas of your life need the most attention. With today's busy lifestyle things can get quite scattered and while you focus on one aspect another may be struggling and dragging you down. You may not even know it but there are areas of your life that need your love. Having a Tarot reading will often help you put things in perspective and help you find a more balanced course of action.

The Tarot can help you to understand the "why" of it. If you are not sure as "why" you feel a certain way about a subject or even why someone is reacting to you a certain way, the Tarot can help. The cards have a way of seeing from a neutral viewpoint and in this way help to foster understanding.

The Tarot can often give physical descriptions of people. This can help you to define who in your life is helpful, it can also pinpoint any trouble makers as well.

It is FUN! Get out of your comfort zone and give it a try.

Messages that Challenge Us

Every now and again, during a reading, I find myself explaining some aspect of a card and hearing "I know" or "you aren't telling me anything I didn't already know", or some similar statement. The message here is that, if it comes up in the cards, there is something influential happening and the subject is brought up because even if you are aware, you may not be behaving consistently with the knowledge. Or...there is something about it that needs some special attention from you.

Readings are always positive - not sugar coated, just positive. It is good for you to know that if the cards show a challenge, they usually show the key to overcoming it as well. Challenges are here to make us appreciate when we have it good, they teach us to trust ourselves, take us out of the familiar comfort zones and help us grow.

What new area of life is challenging you to grow?

Decks

For most long distance readings (via phone or chat) I use my Aquarian Tarot (the well used blue ones on the bottom). They work the best, as they are the oldest (30ish years) but the Witches Tarot (top, centre) is the next oldest (25ish years) and I use it more frequently for face to face readings. My Rider and Albano-Waite decks are (10+) and I use them when the fancy strikes me.

The Celtic Cross

The Celtic Cross

If you are unsure of which layout you would like to try, the Celtic Cross is always a good start for those with a specific question as it tends to focus on one important subject and the energies that are affecting it. It gives an explanation of how the situation began, where you hope for it to go, what energies are coming into play and how those important to the situation are affecting it. The final card represents the outcome of the current situation.

In order to use this style of reading, a card is chosen based on certain physical qualities to represent the querent. Eye, hair and skin colour as well as age are used to determine your querent card. The rest of the cards are laid out in a specific order and read accordingly.

I have to add a bit of a warning here, I have mentioned it before but will say it once again, no matter the spread, the cards will rarely answer superficial type questions especially those asked to cover something that is actively being denied or repressed. I think it is because the energy that is put into hiding it is so present...anyway, the cards don't usually drag all the skeletons out, just the ones that really seem to need attention or should I say are receiving negative attention.

A "typical" reading can last anywhere from twenty minutes to forty-five minutes and outcomes are usually just new starting positions with new questions.
Sigh, such is life, ever unfolding...Thankfully.
