Four Little Leaves

The four leaf clover has long been believed to improve a person's luck, the four leaves stand for: health, wealth, happiness and good luck.
Ever since I was little, I have been looking for, and, at times, collecting four leaf clovers. Nowadays, I like to just collect photos of them and only pick them when necessary (ie. someone else needs one). I usually find a few every summer and I find them growing around the same patches - except for the occasional random one or two found when I am away from home.
Today, I was fortunate to find a small patch of them growing close enough together that I could get them all together in a photo.

I hope you enjoy!

Card Layouts

A reading can take anywhere from five minutes to an hour depending on the type of layout, the question, how many cards turn up (only for the 4 column) and some other variables. This is the reason that I prefer not to charge by the minute like some sites. I feel that if it takes a bit longer to clarify or discuss, you shouldn't have to pay more. I would like to give a brief description of the different layouts that are described on the pay link.

The 4 Column - With this layout there can be as few as four cards up to ... a lot. Cards are laid out in each column until a Major Arcana card comes up thus ending the column. Many times there are more cards than shown in the photo, often they will tell the story in pairs.
4 Columns

Celtic cross -  not shown here is an 11 card layout that speaks to the present situation and all of the energies that surround it. This style of layout speaks to the situation as well as how and who will affect it.

The 3 Card, I like to call this one, "What you know, What you don't know, What you need to know."

3 Card

The 2 Card Yes/No is two cards the first being something you should say "yes" to, the second is something you should say "no" to.

The 1 Card flip is a quick easy way to find out what the universe wants you to be aware of,  a thought for the day.

Now you have the skinny on the layouts all you need is to figure out which style matches what you want.

Tools & Implements

I use some of these most of the time and most of them some of the time.

The Aquarian Tarot and the Witches Tarot are my most accurate decks for long distance reading. Your reading will most likely be done using the Aquarian Tarot. I like to bring my cards, gems and pendulum pretty much everywhere.

The Pendulum is used in special cases as well as the Chakra stones. I do smudge my area when I feel the necessity, it is only one method I use for cleansing an area. I do burn white candles when it is dark (although the one in the photo is obviously unused). I rarely do any scrying but love having the crystal around just for its wonderful energy.

The silk material is used to read on because it is a natural material, it protects my cards, and I can bring it anywhere to use as a portable reading area.

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Prepare to Read

Whenever we sit down for a reading, much of the reading preparation has already been done (unless it is a spontaneous type of reading). I spoke about some of the methods I use for cleansing my cards, and this is a must for each reading. I also take other measures after clearing, to make sure the reading goes well.

One of the other things I like to do, is take some time to center myself before a reading. This is to help me stay focused on the reading and to connect to the client. Centering can take anywhere from thirty seconds, up to five minutes. Time depends upon how "busy" life is for me, how focused I feel and what type of energy the querent (who I will read) has on.

Usually I Protect or shield myself at the same time. This is to prevent any residual or negative energy, possibly brought up in the reading, from sticking to me or around me. Some of my technique, I picked up many years ago when I first began learning Tarot, some came more recently, with Reiki training - all of it works well for me

Centering begins, in my case, by closing my eyes and a few nice deep breaths, while keeping in mind what my purpose/intention is. I imagine I am breathing in light and love which fills me and protects me. "Only the highest power for good surrounds me as I do this reading" is the prayer I tell myself as I center myself, I also envision a white or golden light cocooning me. Depending on whether I am about to read or whether I am channeling Reiki I will envision a column of light coming from "heaven" through my crown, down my body into the ground, and then back up again. Quite often, at the end, a picture/feeling comes over me of roots from my feet entering and anchoring me to earth, while branches with glowing leaves open up from my crown and when this comes over me, I am ready.

Three Methods I use for Cleansing my Cards

Each and every reading is different and the cards have a message for any who ask. I like to cleanse my cards frequently, once before and after all readings. This is to neutralize the energy of a previous reading.

I use three different methods to cleanse my Tarot cards. All of which work equally well but use is dependent on what tools I have with me and which method I feel like using.

  • The very first method I learned was to push the energy away from the cards with my hands. At the same time I visualize a white light and think the word "clean" at the same time. Once I have moved the energy away, I shake it off of my hands, or wash my hands.
  • Another way I cleanse them is with my pendulum. I hold the pendulum over the cards and ask it to cleanse my cards it usually will spin in a counter clockwise direction for a bit and when it stops they are back to zero. I may then ask it to charge my cards for a specific task, for example choosing a good card for meditation.

  • The third method that I use for cleansing my cards is smudging. I use a   sage smudge and say a special prayer while I let the smoke encompass   the deck and the material I carry it in.

My cards are always ready to go! I can promise there will be no residual energy left over from past readings when you have yours.

I always enjoy chatting with you!

Are You Curious About Trying IT?

Are you wondering what it's like to have a Tarot reading? The only way to really find out is to actually have it done! It only seems deep and dark and mysterious because it isn't well understood.

My personal understanding of the Tarot is that it is an energy reading, the cards are neutral really, only picking up the energy that I or whoever is touching them transfers to them. Just passing along a message.

Now, when the querent (that is you) is not present but is speaking to me via phone, letter or chat, the energy is still transferred to the cards through me. The cards that are turned, are interpreted by me.

You only tell me what you want to, if once I have gone through all of the cards you want to clarify certain points or let me in on the question that is fine (it's way more fun and interesting for me when I am clueless). I would like to add that knowing your name, even if it is only your first name, really helps me to focus on you while I shuffle and ask the cards to answer your question on your behalf.

Still unsure? Try out the Three Card Flip, a helpful reading that won't delve too deep into sensitive issues great for a first time reading.

Take care,

Sunday: Time for Stillness

Seven cards - seven days! Today the card of the day is the Ten of Rods.
In some ways a card that describes the energy of someone who is driven to succeed. The person who is never happy until...unfortunately there is always another "until".

There are degrees of success, however, there is a burden in achieving it which would be the case with someone who is working very hard and doing a good job but without any joy in the doing.

The statement I get from this card is that having a passion for your work means feeling less oppressed and more free. When you love what you do, it is no burden to do your job but rather it is a pleasure, there is less stress which in the long term is much healthier. The Ten of Rods is a reminder that guilt and self-doubt only hinder our progress by creating the burden. When we release those negative emotions, we no longer feel the need to carry any other load either.

Today is a good day to lay down your heavy load, let go of negative emotions, they do not work toward your highest good...Take a rest and know that you have earned it.

Tracy

Going Strong on Saturday

So, Saturday, it turns out, is about Strength. This particular card embodies all that the name implies.

It makes me think of one who is prepared for any type of challenge that comes along, whether a physical, mental or emotional. We all know somebody who is like this, usually this person is the "last man standing" after whatever catastrophe hits. One who has Strength as a character trait not only can take a lot but can also turn any adversity into an advantage. A strong person is not afraid to lose and will not give up.

No matter the subject of your reading, the Strength card is an awesome card to have show up in any spread, (in upright position). If it is in a good spot, it can offset negativity in nearby cards or bolster the positive ones.

It is always great chatting with you!

Tracy
